Have You Been To BNS Brewing & Distilling?
Are you a fan of craft beer? Do you know your APA from your IPA and IIPA? Do you have an ever-growing stash of growlers rolling about in your closet?
Whether you're new to craft beer or not, you can't deny that there is a beer revolution going on. America has fallen in love with locally produced spirits and ales. These days, drinking locally produced beer is as easy as eating out at your favorite restaurant.
But what's so fabulous about them? For one, craft beers are uniquely different from each other, depending on brewer and brewery. This variety and the craft beer drinking atmosphere are major attractions for beer connoisseurs.
Start Here
San Diego County is known as “the Craft Beer Capital of America”; so start your journey here. Down in Santee, there a number of microbreweries waiting to offer you some of the most refreshing stouts, ales and lagers. Among so many, it takes something extra for a brewery to stand out, and BNS Brewing & Distilling Co. just happens to have it.
Opened in 2012 by four friends with a love for brewing and distilling, BNS has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors. With an interior described as 'rustic wild west meets modern military', the former warehouse transformed into a brewery cum tasting room provides the perfect ambiance for patrons.
Situated at 10960 Wheatlands Avenue, this brewery stands out by combining elements from an old West saloon and modern features (thumbs up for the cold strip bar). Some of its distinguishing features include:
Varied Offers in Rotation
Since launching with four signature ales and one stout, they have added three more ales into rotation. With the launch of their whiskey and gin later this year, they strive to cater to every palate.
Family Friendly Venue
At BNS Brewing, you can sip your beer inside while watching TV or lounge in the spacious outdoor seating area. BNS is a family-friendly spot with child changing rooms and a play area for younger children.
Feeling Peckish?
Food trucks with menus ranging from tacos to burgers to sushi are available most nights. Be sure to check the BNS website for the schedule. For those nights with no food trucks available, you can bring your own!
Live Music
The BNS country vibe isn't just for show as they have live bands playing music every weekend. Covering genres from country to rock, there is something for everyone.
Not Sure what to Drink?
For craft beer newbies, they offer a flight of five tasters for only $5! The skilled and friendly bartenders add to the chilled atmosphere and make sure you enjoy your time here.
What are you waiting for? Drive down to Santee; bring a growler or three, sample some refreshing hops and enjoy summer.
BNS hosts a locals night every Wednesday with discounts and good food for locals. If you would like to enjoy that permanently, contact the Quance Group on 619-324-5397.
