Quance Group on HGTV: Turn-Key vs. Fixer
One of the biggest questions homebuyers often face is whether they should buy a move-in ready, turn-key home or one that needs a little fixing up. It's a big question because when you're buying homes it's really difficult to find one that exists that is everything you're looking for.
It's wonderful when it works out and it often does, but there is also something fulfilling about finding a fixer that you can turn into the home you love.
This was the challenge Kimo of Quance Group faced when he appeared on an episode of House Hunters on HGTV not too long ago.

And you never know when it might show up on a rerun on HGTV. It's always fun watching House Hunters when it's on. Each episode is a little different because the buyers often have subtle differences in what they're looking for.
Another thing about turn-keys and fixers is that sometimes you'll want to move into an area and when you're really set on a location you're often going to need to learn toward more of a fixer than one that is ready to move-in.
The challenge is that looking for a home can be exhausting and often the last thing you'll want to do is buy a home and get right to work making changes.
What clients often find is that they'r excited to make a few changes right away. They can quickly make the home their own and over time, whether weeks, months or years, you can make the bigger changes like adding a pool, landscaping and even doing more renovations on the spaces.
Some things can be done right away and that even includes bigger changes like knocking down walls. Buyers are often surprised by how perfect a fixer can become.
