The craft brewing industry has seen a surge in popularity the last few years.
The number of breweries in the US is up about 18% in the last year alone.
It seems that people that enjoy beer are after more than just the usual selections.
And those with a knack for brewing something different and tasty are happy to oblige.
Twisted Manzanita Ales & Spirits
Twisted Manzanita opened in 2010. They were driven by the passion to create great beer that was unique and delicious. The idea started as a simple taproom, but has quickly expanded to include numerous beers and now a full distillery.
The brewing location is right in Santee on Prospect Ave. The location also serves as tasting room. They also have another location that is tasting room-only in San Diego on Mission Blvd.
In just five years the company seems to have become a local favorite.
Variety & New Flavors
A unique aspect with any good craft brewery is the ability to experiment and bring new flavors to market. There is also the seasonal aspect to the trade and you can see that right now with the Pumpkin Ale that Twisted Manzanita is offering right now.
The brewer offers a number of core beers and spirits that have become favorites over the years. You can choose various blonde ales, a red ale and a few others along with the regular stream of new offerings.
And if spirits are more you speed you'll find a few options that have become quite popular including the Rebellious Rye Oaked Whiskey.
Today, Twisted Manzanita is open every day of the week at both locations. Each location does have its own hours of operation so make sure to check out the information in their website (Twisted Manzanita) to plan your stop. You can also book a tour to see how the process of brewing and distilling works!
