With records showing that the state of California is experiencing the worst drought in 1,200 years, even the Congressman Jared Huffman admits that “California is hurting”. The snow-covered peaks of Yosemite have very little snow on them, and even NASA believes California only has one year of water left. The scale of the situation is beginning to dawn on residents of the region.
To curb this, in 2014, the government recommended a range of short-term and long-term solutions including:
watering lawns for only seven minutes on three days a week.
using timed-sprinkler systems to avoid wasting water.
washing vehicles and watering potted plants, gardens within certain time slots.
not watering lawns or plants on rainy days.

We all know Santee Lakes is one of the area's biggest attractions, but camping out isn't everyone's favorite summer activity. Good thing the Santee area is also famous for its mountains and is a popular spot for mountain bikers and trail hikers.
